Homemade Facial Masks for Acne

Homemade Facial Masks for Acne

Certain products can cause the skin to break out even more, so knowing what is good to use on your face will go a long way towards helping you clear it up.
Homemade facial masks for acne are great tools to helping get rid of the deep dirt that causes breakouts.
There are many homemade facial mask recipes that work great for acne prone skin.
The good thing about homemade masks is that they are typically less expensive than medicated products and in many cases you may have the ingredients already in your kitchen.
Below are some of the more commonly used facial masks.

One of the easiest masks to use and one that has only one ingredient is the Oatmeal Mask. Using regular plain oatmeal, mix with water to make a paste that is not too runny or too thick and spread all over your face, concentrating on the areas that tend to break out the most.
Leave the mask on until it dries which usually takes about 15 minutes. After it dries, gently wash it off with warm, not hot water. It might take several splashes with the water to get all the oatmeal off. Use this mask on your skin 2 days a week to see improvement in your skin.
Another mask that has excellent results is an Egg White Mask. Be sure to separate the yolk from the whites and mix the whites until they are frothy. Once they are mixed well, using your fingertips (wash your hands first) spread the egg white mixture all over your face and let dry for about 20 minutes. It will feel tight when it is dry. Rinse off well with warm water.
This mask is excellent for tightening the pores and also getting rid of the red, angry looking bumps acne can leave on your face. Nonetheless, this is another homemade facial mask for acne that you should use for twice a week.
One of the least expensive masks you can try is baking soda and water. (Not baking powder, so make sure it’s baking soda you get.) Mix with water to make a paste that is not too thick and spread all over your face. Leave on your face for awhile. You can do other things while this is on your skin, such as watch TV, do the dishes, or get on the computer.
After it has been on your skin about an hour, rinse off thoroughly. Your skin should feel wonderful after this mask is washed off and it should do wonders for your acne.

If any of the above masks cause irritation to your skin, just don’t use that particular mask again. None of these has chemicals in them, but skin responds differently to different products, so what works great for one, may not work for another.
Use these masks regularly, and in between using them be sure to keep your hands off your face, as this spreads dirt and bacteria onto your skin that can increase acne breakouts and wash your face twice a day with an acne cleanser.
You will see a difference in your skin after a couple of weeks of following this regimen. So take note of which homemade facial masks for acne do better with your skin. Also remember to drink a lot of water at the same time as water helps clear acne from the inside out in addition to using the facial mask remedies that you try.
