Homemade Facial Scrub Recipes

Homemade Facial Scrub Recipes

Why spend $$ on a facial scrub when you can make one for pennies?

One of my favorite facial scrubs is from Fresh and cost me $$$.
I mean a lot of money. Which seems ridiculous when you consider
it's made of few simple ingredients including brown sugar, oil and
essential oils. Stuff you can get for pennies. So why not make
your own? These facial scrub recipes are so wonderful, you could
eat them. And they're great for all skin types.

Sugar Facial Scrub With Honey

Ahhhh, the basic brown sugar scrub.
There really isn't a better natural exfoliant
than brown sugar (in my beauty expert
opinion). It doesn't tear at the skin like
oatmeal or salt can do and it takes delicious
if it somehow makes it's way into your mouth.
This popular scrub includes manuka honey and
 oils. It's a must try!

Oatmeal Scrub for the Face

I love a good facial scrub and oatmeal
scrub works for all skin types. It includes
almost all the ingredients in your kitchen:
egg, milk, brown sugar, oatmeal and more.

Coffee Grounds & Cocoa Facial Scrub

This skin brightening facial scrub is interesting
because it contains coffee grounds and cocoa
powder -- 2 products that are great for the skin
. Add honey and oil and you have a super
moisturizing scrub that's good for all skin types.

Pineapple & Papaya Facial Exfoliating Mask

Kiehls makes an amazing
that will set you back $28. You
can make a similar scrub using these
 ingredients for much less.
Pineapple and papayas are not only
delicious to eat (oh how I miss my beach
vacations), but the juice from both are
a natural exfoliant. The honey calms the
skin. This isn't a scrub, as much as it is a
 exfoliating mask. Enjoy!

Super Simple Brown Sugar Scrub for the Face (Just 2 Ingredients!)

Brown sugar is a wonderful natural
exfoliant that works for all skin types.
I adapted this recipe from one suggested
by Lena Korres, founder of Korres Natural
Products, and makeup artist Jemma Kidd, in
 Cosmopolitan magazine.

Almond Milk Facial Scrub

This facial scrub is different from others
I have on my Website. It's make up
solely of dried ingredients, so you can
make up a large batch and keep it for
a good long while or give it as gifts.

Peach Facial Scrub Recipe

Like many fruits, peaches contain
 alpha hydroxy acidAlpha hydroxy
acids are a group of natural acids
found in foods such as sour milk,
fruits and sugar. They work as a
mild exfoliant, breaking down dead
skin cells and helping create new cell
turnover. Use these often and you're left
with smoother skin, a clearer complexion
and fewer blackheads.

Brewer's Yeast & Greek Yogurt Facial Scrub

The brewer's yeast in this scrub will help stimulate
your circulation while the Greek yogurt refreshes
your face. The brown sugar, of course, is the
perfect exfoliant.
